Trump and his flunkies have been busy ramping up the undermining of the special counsel’s investigation at every opportunity, crying foul and witchhunt as loudly as they can. With the addition of character actor/clown Rudy Giuliani & other new lawyers into the mix, there are certainly clues that Trump will refuse a voluntary questioning session with Mueller’s team, despite his protestations that he would love nothing more than to do that. That will almost certainly lead to a grand jury subpoena, which will in turn lead to a prolonged court battle, very possibly lasting beyond the midterm elections, and will significantly delay the completion of the investigation, particularly regarding obstruction of justice, and possibly also of associated indictments. That will allow much more time for further undermining of the investigation, which campaign has unfortunately been effective in recently raising the percentage of people who favor shutting it down! It also increases the risk that Rosenstein and/or Mueller will get the ax before things are tied up. At least if the Democrats retake the House, they will doubtless begin & re-institute congressional investigations, and would probably at least openly threaten impeachment if Trump fires Rosenstein or Mueller.

Meanwhile, the Stormy Daniels payoff debacle is still festering and becoming even more interesting and less clear due to the claims & revelations on Fox by Giuliani, which Trump initially condoned and then repudiated after negative press coverage (and probably also outrage by the rest of his new legal team, which was reportedly totally blindsided). It seems to be the legal version of the Keystone cops, just not funny!
