I Love to Say I Told You So! #UnfitToServe

What can I say? The explosive new book Fire and Fury by Michael Wolff paints a staggeringly awful portrait of Donald Trump in the words of some of his closest associates, including Steve Bannon. The bottom line is that his own inner circle apparently believes he is unqualified and unfit to serve as POTUS! If only half of what is alleged is true, this is unprecedented in modern American political history and incredibly alarming! It is still too early for we the public to determine whether there will turn out to be clear evidence of actual collusion or conspiracy during the campaign, which even if it happened, may not involve Donald Trump himself. However, the tremors rattling the White House are getting progressively stronger, and I predict that sooner or later, despite the White House’s efforts to patch up the cracks, there is going to be major structural damage if not frank destruction. I predict that within the next few months there will be charges of obstruction of justice by Trump from the Mueller investigation. Whether the Republican-controlled House of representative would take any action on this is still doubtful, but if the Democrats retake control of the House in 2018, impeachment would be a certainty in that situation. Even then, conviction in the Senate would be very uncertain, although by then the chance to replace an unstable, unqualified and persistently unpopular Trump with Pence, a more conventional and stable Republican, may well make enough political sense at that time to tip the scales against Trump. In view of the reports of his increasing instability, it is also possible that before any of that happens, Trump may be removed from office for being deemed unfit to perform his duties under the provisions of the 25th Amendment, which would be even more unprecedented and historic. No matter what they say in public, replacing Trump with Pence would increasingly be cause for a great big private celebration among most congressional Republicans. Curiouser and curiouser!
